Principal's Welcome

I am incredibly honoured to be the inaugural Principal of McAuley Community School, a Catholic school in the Mercy tradition.

As an educator and a parent, I understand the importance of the decision when choosing a school for your child. We all want our children to be happy, capable, resilient and respected citizens of the world and to have the confidence and enthusiasm to be the best they can be.

I truly believe that every person is made in the image of God. No matter what age, we are unique and capable individuals with great potential. McAuley Community School is a place where there are opportunities for all to thrive. It is a place to live, learn and lead. We are all learners and we are all leaders, and together we will innovate, create, think critically, collaborate, problem solve and question, with the desire of making a difference in the world in which we live.

At McAuley Community School we work together to unlock each person’s potential, allowing all of us to be the best we can be.

With my mission to lead a community of thriving people, capable learners, leaders of the world God desires, I am excited to be sharing this journey with you as the rich possibilities of learning unfolds before us at McAuley Community School, a place to thrive.

I share with you one of my favourite quotes from Pope Francis which is at the heart of my leadership.

Amanda Parslow
Principal

‘Educating is not a profession but an attitude, a way of being; in order to educate it is necessary to step out of ourselves and be among young people, to accompany them in the stages of their growth and to set ourselves beside them. Give them hope and optimism for their journey in the world. Teach them to see the beauty and goodness of creation and of (humanity) who always retain the Creator’s hallmark. But above all with your life be witness of what you communicate.’
